Comcast digital box

My grandmother does not want to pay for a 2nd digital box. She has 2 TV's in close enough proximity to each other that I could splice the cable coming out of the box to both TV's. Only problem is the remote. Could anyone suggest an Ir extender or if I need a new universal remote other then the comcast provided one.

I basically want to take the cable coming out of the box and put it into 2 TV's and then be able to control that box from 2 different rooms if possible. I will get you a model number if anyone needs it.

I wanted to do this as a Christmas present and I appreciate any help or guidance.

Xantech makes a nice kit too. Stick the "eye" in one room, and the emitter upon the cable box. 1 wire betwixt the rooms. You would only need a coax splitter to give 1 cable to each TV, that which is coming out of the cable box. Set the TV's to channel 3 and you are done.

Other trouble will be - How is grandma gonna turn on set 2? Is it an identical set?

Thank you for your replies. No the other set she has is a different brand. She has a remote for that one right now but I was thinking she would need a new one. For one reason in particular because the comcast universal remote can't hold a TV code for 2 tv's at the same time. So I don't know if it is better to have one that can hold more the one code or 2 different remotes.
