You know... I wouldn't have thought much of this remark, but now that I'm looking to set up Comcast where I'm moving to... holy shit. I pay $45 a month right now for Roadrunner and I'll be looking to pay $62 for the same service with Comcast just because I don't want cable TV :\.

I haven't checked the extras yet, but I assume there's a $1.99 fee tacked on if I want it with lube.
The good lube is $3.99/mo. Otherwise they only use just enough saliva.

This is pretty good move. It allows them to really market themselves as so much more than a cable company and a total infinite source of entertainment and communication options.

You really can have it all with Xfinity.

I thought you were networking, not marketing.

Blackwater changed name to Xe. Comcast changed name to silly one also starting with X.

Coincidence? I think NOT

They're not actually changing their name. They're going to call their services Xfinity TV, Xfinity Internet, etc.. in some test markets.

But yes, it's still a really stupid name and this will fail miserably.

they should change their name to XMonster so those two douchebag companies can battle it out, and hopefully implode.

I won't defend comcast as they are long gone. The new king of choices, performance and personalized customer service is Xfinity.

You'll save a plenty, with Xfinity!

It's cheaper to get the basic cable and internet than internet alone.

Actually, my new apartment complex gives me basic cable + HBO as part of my rent... does that mean I only pay the $45 a month because I technically get Comcast basic for "free"?

"Comcast hopes the new moniker will help customers forget the high prices and poor customer service for which the company has been criticized in the past. "

Maybe they would not have to worry about anything if their customer service was not absolutely crappy and pathetic along with high prices for pathetic services.

I had Time Warner in Memphis with Road Runner cable for about 8 years or so, Comcast bought them out and within six months I canceled due to their pathetic services.

Yep. They quoted me $38 for 6mo for internet and cable, though. I'm not looking forward to the end of the 6mo period...
