I'll be moving to my new apt really soon, and I'm thinking of going with Comcast instead of what I have now SBC DSL.

I'm using 2Wire wireless router now, and I know it won't work as a cable modem.
But can I just use it as a wireless router together with the cable modem provided by comcast?

Yes:)

Just make sure that if it was set to PPPoE, you login to the router and set it for DHCP.

Confused on how to do this? look up your router on the internet and find the manual on the manufactures web page. Then if you still have trouble reset the dang thing and follow the directions to a "T."

If it is a DSL Modem/Router Combo, you can not use it as a Cable Modem, or as a Router.

You need a Cable Modem and a regular Router.

You can use the old combo as an Access Point.
