While I was out today, I counted 8 comcast trucks digging near the "junction boxes" at nearby neighborhoods. The last time they did that was when they bought out MediaOne and took over all the cable lines in this area and laid new cable. In this area we already have OnDemand and 3000/256 internet service. Could they be preparing for another upgrade?
I've found that my area is one of the first to get new services/utilities. For a while, the internet connection was at 1500/128, then about 9 months before anyone else started recieving upgrades, it was at 1500/256... and about 6 months before they started advertising "Now twice as fast" we had 3000/256.
Plus, not that this has much to do with the cable company, when we had that big power outage last year, we were one of the first 5-10 cities to get our power back on (in Michigan anyway), and we were one of the few places with water.
