Deal only applies to new customers. I actually am pretty happy with no cable and Verizon DSL, but I figure I would pass the deal along. Also, I got this in the mail, so it might be a regional thing only. I live in Maryland.

Yep I got in on this deal. $19.99 for the digital cable and $19.99 for the HSI. If I recall, it's only 3 down/256 up. It's $10 more for the 4 down/384 up.
Even hotter since I signed up through Staples. I'll be getting a $105 mail in rebate which is essentially 2.5 months of service free

I live in Prince George's county, but even though it came in the mail it didn't appear to be a loval deal.

Also, I'm not sure if digital cable is the same as high definition cable. Anyone know?

Digital Cable is a lot more channels essentialy, and a use inferface, etc. Certain channels are in HD, but of course you need an HDTV.

The guy I talked to over the phone never heard of the deal. The only deal he knows of the is having the digital cable for $39.99 but that doesn't include internet. I forgot how long that was for before regular price, I think till the end of the year.

Stupid question. If I have a standard TV but this deal is cheaper than getting basic cable + internet alone, can I still watch all of the digital channels? Or are some of them hdtv-only?

edit: while I'm at it, any idea what channels basic cable offers vs. standard cable?

You can watch all the digital channels with your standard TV. you don't need a hdtv to watch certain channels. The pictures and the clarity are much better on a HDTV, that's all.

I think the differences between standard and basic is:

basic=the normal channels..2,4,6,8.
Standard=I think you get like mtv, more news channels, more sport channels.

Of course Im not sure about it.
