I'm paying $15/mo for commercial usenet access, but am going to be switching to comcast cable. How is their usenet feed? I'd like to drop the usenet subscription if possible...

I just saw that. That sucks. Hrmmmm....
Number of groups and speed is fine, but one gig per month sucks if you're downloading anything big. :frown:

But 1 gig is plenty of news ;)
"News" = midget pr0n?

I beg to differ. :p

Hmm that's true. There can never be enough midget pr0n. Especially the kind with cats.

its good if you're an old ATTBI subscriber because they're keeping our news server. Otherwise your SOL.

oddly enough, I had it installed already during my previous attempts to use newsgroups. Ive gotten the software setup and have subscribed to one group so far. It looks different than in OE, as far as the message orders go. BTW, Ive got the Free Agent, if it makes any difference.

It does. Use Agent (free for 30 days). It has a few features (being able to sort headers by subject being a big one) that the Free version doesn't have.

Are you sure? I haven't been able to use attbi's news server since early July. What news server address are you using?

i dont know if it is true, but someone on dslreports said that attbi converts and anyone that subscribed on or after july 1st would use the old attbi newsgroup servers.

Depends on where you live, I guess. I'm in Dallas and I have no download limit. I usually download at around 150-200k/sec. I use Xnews.
