Comcast adds Video On Demand service today

Today in my area (Boston) Comcast added their VOD service. I'm surprised they offer so much stuff for free. Lots and lots of anime. The video is very compressed, it's poor VHS quality, but it's free. I wouldn't pay to watch a movie on it. You can FF/RW/Pause. They must have alot of bandwidth to offer so much material.

Yesterday they also added two new HD channels, INHD1 & 2, which are pretty impressive. Hopefully they'll offer HD in their VOD service too.

Whats VOD stand for? Video on Demand?

Yes. It's pretty interesting stuff, I can definately see potential there. There must be well over 500 full shows/movies available.

Showtime in particular puts alot of their full series and movies up, in full DD 5.1. You can catch the whole run of Dead Like Me, etc.
HBO's VOD service starts in October. The Anime Nework is pretty cool too.

I just can't bring myself to watch much of it because I'm so used to at least DVD quality on my HDTV. HD VOD is inevitable. I can't wait.

Digital cable. And if you can believe it, there's really no information at all on Comcast's site, other than it's included in the package. There are lots of articles all over the net about it.

Thanks for the info I been debating getting Digital cable for HD this sound interesting.
