combining images

I took 3 separate photos of myself. The only difference is that one is positioned in the center of the camera, one off to the right, and one off to the left. Each photo was taken using a 15 second shutter speed. I then ran out of the picture about halfway through, giving a "ghost" like effect. I used a tripod, so each of the 3 pictures was taken from exactly the same spot.

What I want to do is add the 3 pictures together so that all 3 shots of me (left, right, center) are in the same image. What exactly do I need to do to accomplish this? Do I need to cut out the other two images of me and paste them in the other one? Can I just "add" the differences between the pictures, which will leave me with one photo with all 3 images of me in it, since all the other details of the picture will not have changed from one shot to the next? The lighting is just the way I want it in all 3 photos, so I'd rather not mess with that if possible.

What exactly is the name of what I am trying to do here? I suspect I need to use photoshop, but I am not sure what function will accomplish what I want, or where to even start searching for help.
