Combining audio from Computer + HDTV using only the computer's mixer?

I'm wondering if this is possible.

I have an HDTV with a headphone jack and a computer + speaker setup that I mainly use with headphones.

Is there a way to "connect" the audio of the HDTV to the computer and use the computer's software mixer so that I can combine the audio from the HDTV and computer and listen to both using my headphones? The end result is that I want to use headphones and get sound from both my computer and HDTV simultaneously.

I do have a couple of sound cards if that makes a difference.

Well, just bought a 10ft M/M stereo cable to feed from the headphone jack of the TV to the line-in of my computer's onboard sound card. Hope it works!
