Combinational Logic Question..

I just finished designing my 1 bit adder. Then I made a 4 bit adder using xor's. I am on a question at the end of the chapter and to be honest, am not quite sure what it is asking....

"A combinational logic circuit has two inputs. The values of those two inputs during the past ten cycles were 01, 10, 11, 01, 10, 11, 01, 10, 11, and 01. The values of these two inputs during the current cycle are 10. Explain the effect on the current output due to the values of the inputs during the previous ten cycles."

I am not quite sure how to begin to answer this, because no outputs are given. So I am not quite sure how to compare them...?

In the past 10 cycles there was a repeating input, so I imagine the output would be repeating, based on the original sequence provided. The new input does not change so I would imagine the new output does not either.

But how does the old inputs effect the new output ? My best guess is that since it is a combinational logic circuit and not a sequential logic circuit, that the old inputs have no affect on the new outputs. That make sense ?

Yes this is homework. Yes, I ve read the chapter and googled the question. I would appreciate a clarification of what is being asked.. ?

Thanks ATOT
