combat flight simulator 3 problems

i have just installed this game to my computer and it just gives me a black screen and then after some time it say the program is not responding
I have updated my video card drivers

we need more information. we need your system specs. you need to run all diagnostics on the computer. are you overclocking? etc?

but first off, give us your system specs.

Yeah, CFS3 had some serious stability problems. Definitely make sure you patch it. Also, what's your hardware? The entire CFS3 experience kind of turned me off to this sim due to its problems.

can a computer be to good for a game
if so then that might be my problem
if not where can i buy the game because i think my cd is bad

Like you, I just experienced this problem and read pages and pages of nonsense about how to fix this problem. Here's what I did.

After uninstalling the program, reinstalled first Combat Flight Simulator, then the Aircraft power pak (additional aircraft), then the Mosquito pack.

I went on to the C drive and into the microsoft games folder, right-clicked on the Combat Flight Simulator icon and chose properties-

THE GAME DEFAULTS TO RUN ON WINDOWS 95 and the box was checked to do so! Under the menu, there was no option to select Windows XP, so I unchecked the box, click 'Apply', then 'save' and started the program with no problem.

Not sure why it does this unless maybe it doesn't recognize the XP operating system initially.
