COM Surrogate has stopped working

I got this problem on my daughter laptop.acer e1-531.The picture viewer stop.and she get's this message.
OS is Win.7 64 ultimate.So far what i did is get the gpu drivers updated.chkdsk /f/R.SFC /SCANNOW. when on Windows 7 forums and did all the setting and dll change.no luck.so i installed Picasa as mention by MS😱.I would like to know if someone got this weird issue Fixed.

LOL, I did not. Glad it's finally fixed. Sorry I missed the first post.
 
For future reference, the COM Surrogate is just a generic, alternative host (surrogate) for COM objects (often third-party ones). What the heck are COM objects? Codecs, shell extensions, and other stuff that fits into the "component that can be used by various other programs" description are probably COM.

So a COM Surrogate crash is very generic and could be caused by any number of wildly different things.
