Hi guys I have a crappy friggin problem.

We have some pc's that use propriety hardware encryption cards to encrypt the stream of traffic between the pc and server : To install the device you must add a com port , normally com port 3 and then give it a certain address range + com port . The friggin problem is that the moment I install the thing , Windows complains that the thing isn't using resources due to some problem . I've tried changing the resources etc but to no avail.

I have updated to SP3 , but unfortunately the problem still persists. I'm currently looking for a BIOS upgrade , but I can't seem to find any sign of who the manufacturer is . It says clearly on the board that its a SE440BX2 , though not a whiff of who the manufacturer could be ..

Has anyone ever had this problem ?

It is a Intel Seattle 440BX2 motherboard.

I doubt that a BIOS update would help you though.
System resources under Win2k are very tight, especially when ACPI
is enabled.

The last version BIOS listed is P17.
