Com port on a monitor???

Apollo

I have a old 20" monitor - CTX 2085.
It has a standard 9 pin com port on it. It says COMM PORT with 2 'M's right next to it. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?

Thanks

Could it be for software control of the monitor settings? Some newer monitors use a USB connection for that.

I thought about that. It seems to me that it is to old for that - approx 5 years. Possible though. Also, I don't recall any mention of anything like that in the manual which I have lost. I should get a cable and see what happens. I searched CTX's website but they didn't mention my monitor.

Get a cable and open a terminal window with it. Who knows, maybe you will have a bunch of cool undocumented features.
