Suspect...suspect. He does drive the car they were looking for though. I didn't drive on the parts of the highway we was shooting at so I was never really worried. Some guys at work drove it everyday though.

His dad also turned in his pistol to police, which has already been linked to like 14 of the shootings, inlcuding the death.

According to CNN they matched bullets recovered from the shootings to one of his guns. I guess he's as much a suspect as Malvo & Co were when they were arrested with the AR-15 in the car with them.

1. He is a suspect, not confirmed shooter
2. He is a serial shooter, not a sniper

Just a couple of my pet peeves regarding this whole story. ANd speaking of the media, I am sick to death of the continuing coverage they gave over the last two days. OK, you've named the guy as the suspect, Police don't know where he is, they're looking for him. HOW MUCH MORE CAN A NEWS TEAM ELABORATE ON THAT UNTIL THE GUY IS APPREHENDED??!! They repeated themselves over and over again. They talked with his family, dragged their name through the mud too. Talked to old high school friends, etc. How is this news?! I don't care what his friends thought of him in high school. The police might because it might possibly help in the investigation. But come on, does anyone else care? And since they've showed his home on the news, people have been egging it and so forth. Now, did his parents have anything to do with this? NO! WHy can't the media just leave something alone. Report what needs to be reported and move on??

Sorry, modern media just pisses me off anymore.

And yet, I bet you watched most of that as opposed to turning the tv off.

No I did not watch it. I typically don't watch the news. However, when I flip through the channels, that's what they're talking about.

I TOTALLY agree. I changed the title... I can't believe I called him a sniper, I guess the media has engrained that in my head.

Maybe it's just me, but when I hear sniper, I think of the guy in DC that was KILLING people. This guy has killed one person and it's believed to be an accident. He's just out shooting up cars. Granted, it might be a sniper style rifle that he is using, however he is no sniper.

No death penalty. Just life in prison without opportunity for parole. As I stated, he killed one person and that was possibly an accident. I dont' believe he had an intent to kill. Or maybe he did and as the previous post states, bad aim. He cause a city wide panic, I don't think that deserves the death penalty.

I heard on the radio that he drives a 1999 Geo Metro?

LOL

If he's found guilty in the court of law, let him fry.

Maybe we should just accidently slam his fvcking head in a car door about 100 times or so. If it were up to me, the shooter would be put to death ASAP.

He's obviously mentally incapable. I would rather see him sit in prison for life rather than see a prosecutor seek the death penalty when the Supreme Court has ruled that mentally incompetent people should not be executed and thus, an appeal may get him off earlier than a life sentence would.

"In a missing person's report filed Monday, McCoy's mother, Ardith, said her son withdrew $600 from a bank account and left home Friday for a mall restaurant and bar with video games."

Tipped off by a gambler...
  • ...who suddenly realized he was sharing his pizza with a fugitive, authorities in Las Vegas yesterday arrested a man suspected in two dozen sniper shootings that have frightened residents of central Ohio for months.

One especially useful tip came from Conrad Malsom, a gambler at the Stardust Casino who said he struck up a conversation with a young man seated at a nearby table by offering him a slice of pizza. Within moments, Malsom told police, he recognized McCoy from a wanted photo. He continued chatting and found out McCoy was staying at the nearby Budget Suites motel. Then he called Las Vegas police.
It doesn't mention the fact, that this guy also tracked down McCoy's car at the hotel, and notified police of this, too!

We ought to set a precedent, by rewarding this guy with a LOT of money. Perhaps close to a million bucks. That should be continued for people that turn in terrorist suspects as well. With all the people chasing a fast buck by gambling, this would be one more source of a possible windfall for them. We'd have millions of people across the country, scanning the most wanted publications for their chance at a million dollars. It would be money well spent, IMO.
