That may overall be true, but you are seriously deluding yourself if you think that the increased prices are passed along to the growers as a 1:1 relationship, or anywhere close to it. Coffee is a globally traded commodity these days, and there are plenty of middlemen taking a cut.

Yes, the Colombian government takes a huge cut when prices go up.

The statement was that higher prices hurt farmers, and supposedly only helped big business somewhere. I showed that was an asinine and factually incorrect statement, which is not surprising considering the source.
