Colts' Harper questionable after knife attack

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis Colts cornerback Nick Harper's wife was jailed Saturday night on charges of cutting him with a knife, a sheriff said.

Hamilton County Sheriff Doug Carter said Daniell Harper, 31, was being held without bond on charges of battery with a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness.

Nick Harper was treated for a knee injury at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. His injuries were not life-threatening, Carter said.

Harper, a starter, is listed as active for Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game against Pittsburgh.

Earlier Saturday, Colts spokesman Craig Kelley said Harper had required stitches in his knee following an "accident." He said he had no other details.

Kelley told The Associated Press later that he had gotten his information from Colts officials.

"There was not an accident," Carter said. He said Harper and his wife had been involved in a fight.

Harper, 31, was arrested in June on a domestic battery charge after police said he hit his wife.

We'll see if she was a victim this time.

In today's society, a woman can easily beat up on a man, and when he goes to restrain her, or even return a blow, he'll wind up in jail for domestic abuse.

The only thing I could provide would be anecdotal evidence. I don't care to look up any cases that would provide the evidence you would need to believe me.

It is common knowledge that the law heavily favors women in almost all "violation" crimes, and it is quite easy to exploit it if you are a female.

Nah, it doesn't always work like that. If the woman throws the first blow and you call the cops, she'll be arrested (given that you have visible marks and she doesn't). But police officers tend to take the word of the woman over the man in a lot of cases.

The visible marks is key. If you don't, you're probably going to wind up being taken down to the station.

Considering my father has been called to the scene of a few dozen of domestic abuse cases when he worked for the NYCPD before being a Corrections Officer, I may know more about it than others.

EDIT: And yes, I also am biased about the abuse of women of the system and in general. A few years back, after a few drinks, my friend was with his girlfriend in the room, and I was with her friend. She starts going down on me, my friend's girlfriend starts going down on him. They finished us off and went home. Then the chick that went down on me started spreading rumors that I had forced her to give me head (aka I raped her). Luckily, with 2 witnesses there, it wasn't much of a problem debunking her story, even though I took a lot of sh!t because of her lies for a few months.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Somebody must have bet BIG on Pittsburgh, and wanted some "insurance" :Q

It was Kimo von Oelhoffen! Last week it was Carson Palmer. This week, Harper. 😉

I would tend to agree with him...but no not all women are like that. But the problem is that women hold a little thing called the rape card and even if what happened was consentual...if they decide to go apeshit then they just call it rape and the guy really has no defense against that.

The system does favor crazy women like that, unfortunately.

But no...not all women would do that.
