i have a problem where my colors are too dark. when i play games, i can barely make out anything at all.. quake3,UT,Halflife are all too dark, and make it difficult to play.

i've tried almost everything, but i'm wondering if there are any other solutions.

i have a viper 770 (tnt).. and a viewsonic e773 monitor. i've looked on both websites to see if there are any solutions, but there appear to be none. any thoughts on where the problem might lie?

thanks very much for your imput.

Have you tried boosting each of the colours' brightness and contrast? Not the main contrast/brightness, but rather each of the individual channels? My monitor used to be dark as well, and I boosted each of the channels and now it's great :) I'm using a TTX 1770, not a viewsonic.

PowerStrip utility allows you to adjust brightness and contrast well beoynd what is provided by the monitor's controls. I believe you can do that for Direct3d and OpenGL, too.
