i have two pcs one running windows 2000 server and a client running windows xp. When i log onto the server using remote desktop or terminal services i only get 256 colors. both computers are set for True Color . In the remote desktop connection dialog box under options on the display tab colors is set to True Color (24 Bit), on the Experience tab it is set to LAN. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
 
Check your servers video display to see what it is capable of. The PC you're running Remote Desktop from may be capable of 24 bit color, but perhaps your server is not.
