Coloring of CD/RW Drives silver is what I need!

I am getting a new computer and the case will be silver, and I want to either get the plextor 48x or the lite on 52x CD burners, but my problem is that I can't find them with a silver front casing for the drive. I want my case to look good in the front obviously so this is something I would want. Any suggestions for getting the drives to look silver to coexist with my case? Thanks

Don't use any damn sticker. Purchase the 40x Lite-up on Directron and upgrade the firmware to 48x. Thats what I did (but in black) 😀

I took mine apart and painted them. I have my CD-RW drives in Pyro Drive (1394) enclosures, but I need a bootable DVD for installing OS disks. When I can figure out how to boot from 1394 (and access the drive from DOS hehe) I will move EVERYTHING to the Pyro Drive enclosures so the only thing will be the floppy.

Cheers!

Sharkeeper,

Pyro Drive, Firewire, ...maybe you should change your name to Pyromaniac! 🙂

Plastic model paint works great. Just remove all the faceplates, mask the LED windows and spray with small cans of model spray. Color is up to you - lots of metallics including aluminum, steel, gold, silver, and chrome. To make it really cool, accent buttons and things in bright red, blue or yellow. For $20 worth of paint you can do several computers. I just finished one and am starting another.
