colored pixels in winXP desktop .spikes in d3d ?!

well i have a problem ,, a real difficult one for me ,,, but 1st of all
here is some info about my pc

OS: windows XP professional
video dirvers : detenator XP 28.32
direct x ver: 8.1 integrated in windows XP


hardware :
processor: pentuim 4 1.8 GHz 256 kb wallamate (stock clock )
memory : 256 mb pc2700 corsair cl2 (timing is set to normal)
video card: asus v7700 geforce 2 GTs 32 MB pure OEM

problem description :
in some new d3d games like comanche 4 and grand theft auto 3 and 3dmark2001
i see glitches in the form of spikes ( very sharp long lines or puramids
( coming out of the objects ,, for example in gta3 and 3dmark2001 maxpayne scene
i see the guys with something like long sharp needle coming out of their
bodies and hand guns ,, and move as they move their body parts in the game ,
aslo some deformation in the texures in some places in the buildings in GTA3
,like nonsense extensions for tuxures on the buildings coming out to the street..
make u think as if it was ment to be like that but i am sure they r not , they
r just bugs )

ps: in some other d3d games ( insane) and open gl games like (jedi outcast) ,,
i didn't see any of the previous .but something else .. i see smooth colored circle spots
on the terrain and mountains ,, texures ... some of them colored in red and green ,, blue ,,

please ,,, help me ,, any help will be appretiated ,, i am in need of assistance

These are storage glitches. Check your system RAM ... www.memtest86.com. If OK, you must suspect either AGP transport problems or a faulty graphics card. Overclocking stuff may also trigger that effect.

Your problems sound like they're heat related, you're overclocking your card too high or your video card is defective. Try underclocking the card to see if the problems go away.
