Man they wanted to take my DNA just to go in the TVA control room. It wasn't in place yet, but it was gonna be standard pretty soon. I don't really see the problem though, the FBI got my fingerprints on file for having an internship with the government, why not my DNA?, only people who need to worry about it are criminals, and personally I am OK with that.

I really didn't like the UK when I was in London. The whole place feels like a granny-nanny state. It's complete with creepy looping female intercom voices every public place you go.

Wow, some of you folks sure are trusting of the government.

They're only here to help you!

And they never make mistakes!

Well done. You've convinced me.

It's not all that different from collecting your fingerprints when you're arrested... but I'm still adamantly opposed to it. A person should not be forced to give up their DNA unless compelled by a judge to do so. But it's pretty easy to trick someone into giving it up (i.e. do you want a drink while we interrogate you for 5 hours?)

Maybe they should just start collecting DNA samples at birth or while issuing a SSN

Frankly I'm surprised that hasn't been done already. As soon as you get any form of ID like SSN or any state-issued license, wham, DNA and prints along with your photo.

I'm not in favor of this, but thanks to our asshat politicians, I think it is inevitable. In the future, when you get a driver's license, they will collect a fingerprint, iris scan and DNA sample.

I'm just curious, for those who are against this, why?

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
