I can get use to the new forums once we can change the background colours etc...the default one as a few members have previously stated is not great.

I do hope thats in the pipeline at some point.

This isn't the default skin, if that's what you're thinking.

Right, the admins made this skin based from the default Fusetalk skin, because the default vBulletin is a slightly darker blue theme.

ViRGE nice to see you say that ,anyway I have no other issues with the new forums and like all things it takes awhile to adjust but nothing serious.

For those looking for a darker theme...

I use the Stylish plug-in with Firefox to change my most-used forums to a darker style. The result is so much more pleasing and lessens eyestrain. For vBulletin based sites like Anandtech I use a modified version of the Cryptic theme, as found here:
http://userstyles.org/styles/12045

The theme already looks nice as-is, but the shades of blue used for the forum and thread titles IMO needs to be lightened up a bit to improve the contrast. So I use a slightly modified version of the theme that does that. I'm quite happy with it.

Simply import that theme into Stylish using the 'Install with Stylish' button on the page I linked above , then edit the script and append ", domain(forums.anandtech.com)" to the @-moz-document line. It'll then use that script for the Anandtech forums.

I didnt like the way that one used blue text, I ended up finding one that was similar to Genmay's but used green for links. It seems easier on my eyes

Thanks, however I noticed after I installed a few different colour schemes my hypertext links in Anandtech forums does not work with Firefox when I try to post on my PC,I uninstalled everything and will now reinstall Firefox, hopefully that should fix the problem,my IE browser works fine on this PC so its got to be one of the colour stylish themes I had installed broke something.

Update: reinstalling Firefox fixed the problem so guess I have to be very careful what stylish theme I use or install :).

You can disable the style that is causing the problem -- no need to reinstall Firefox. Simply right-click on the Stylish icon in the lower right corner of the Firefox window, select 'Manage Styles...', and in the new window select the style and click the Disable button.

I tried that but it still was not working even with all styles disabled ,even uninstall of styles did not help ,in the end only a Firefox reinstall would fix the problem, its still working fine now so I'm happy :).
