Not wanting to hijack the other thread about laser printers, we need a new printer. I'm done with injkets and want a color laser, the wife wants it with a scanner. The following are readily available:

And as far as I can tell, they will only print fullpage color, they won't feed for picture sized prints. But mostly she just wants to be able to start scanning in old family pictures and stuff.

What are the thoughts here on these two?
 
I would go with Brother over HP, IMO the quality of HP hardware has been going steadily downhill for a long time.

The HP's black cartridge yield isn't very impressive (1600 pages). Hopefully it's not the highest capacity figure I've seen by clicking on links on that site from the printer page you posted. I would check it on the HP site (I would check Brother's as well though just to be certain of what the quoted specs are).
