Color Images saving as Black and white in Mac Excel 2011

Hi all,

I can't seem to find a solution for this using google so I figured I'd ask the bright minds at Anandtech 🙂

I am using CS5 Illustrator on a Mac. I'm copying a color image from Illustrator and pasting it into Mac Excel 2011. When using "Paste", it pastes over fine. When I save it, then reopen, the image turns to black and white.

I have tried doing Paste Special, but I lose quality in the image once I use paste special. I also have installed all updates for Illustrator and Office 2011.

Anyone else have any experience with this issue or any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated!

Does it do the same thing if you insert the picture from a folder and not copy/paste directly from Illustrator?

Are you saving the XL file in binary?

Maybe something to do with the default printer settings? Is it set to B&W from Excel print menu?

Nope!

Right now, it's set to Last Printer Used, and I have been printing in Color.
