Does the color of the signal in ir tranmission matter?if color attributes were added to a data stream would that increase efficentcies
ive heard of new mediums of dvds that are capable of more data storage and data tranfers because of a new blue led.also in terms of colors whats the less visible color on a standard spectrum what would be could for the interior of a vehicle

Color is a visual interpretation of wavelength, so called "blue ray" DVD devices use a different (shorter) laser wavelength than prior DVD drives - Thus allowing more data to be stored.

It is, however, a laser. Not an LED.

Silicon phototransistors are more sensitive to the red - IR range. You could try different colours, but it really shouldn't matter.
It will be specified on the packaging.
