What a joke MLB has become. Faye Vincent would never have put up with this crap.

If the Expos have to par salary, then the Yankees have to be paying all of El Duque's salary.

Good trade for the White Sox, they now have two aces in their rotation.

Do you realize how silly you sound?

It is completely ridiculous...but that is what happens when the red sox fans have waited this long for a championship. To compound the problem, the red sox are in a division with the most outrageous spender. At the same time, the new owners are saddled with tremendous debt and are cutting payroll.

We are all bitter, so that allows us to sound at least a little silly.

Well the Yankees got rid of one of their starting pitchers.. how many do they have left now 7?
Now they might have beefed up their bullpen with some pitchers but who knows they could get shelled.

But man baseball is sad now with the salary problems. Sure install a luxury tax so that teams that go over the tax
threshold get to pay extra and have that money being split by the 5 lowest payrolls(I think?). The problem is the owners of those payrolls are not required to spend the money on their teams. They can just pocket it.

I think thats just messed up. These same owners voted down a minimum payroll. I mean honestly how can you expect
your team to compete if you dont spend money thats being given to you?

Ideally the Yankees can do one of two things: 1) Cut salary (doesnt look like thats happening) 2.) Over spend so much so they are giving in excess of $50 million to the 5 lowest teams.

Now its up to the teams that get this money to use it. If the Yankees are giving $10 million a year to these "poor" teams then it would make sense for them to use it by signing free agents; signing the kids they drafted; spending on scouting. But the owners dont no wonder some of the teams that are getting a little finanical help still stay at the bottom.

Sure old George is fvcked up, overspends, is a hothead, rules with an iron fist, whatever you name it. Whats more outrageous are the owners that b!tch and moan but do nothing with the money thats being given to them because of the luxury tax.

The Expos trade away one of their best players. Again. If they stopped saying they were moving every single year they might attract more than 5,000 fans every game; right now they're basically a farm club for other major league teams, and it kills me to watch them every off season. I've lost hope for them, without a new stadium to move out of the Big-O which is way too far from downtown, they are pretty much done. They will never be able to compete for a penant and the fact that they finished over .500 last season is a miracle in itself.

Somebody take old yeller out back and shoot him, please.
