Colocation hosting for GPU projects?

I'm currently working on a GPU based DC project. Dealing with the heat of 5x 5870s and 2x 6970s is getting brutal as the weather gets warmer. So I'm looking into colocating (is that the proper word?) some of my crunchers into a data center.

Problem is I don't really know where to look and my googling has brought me a lot of very basic plans that offer 1 or 2 amps of power and I need on the order of 6-7 amps and 4Us. Very little bandwidth is required, I supply the hardware, no support (the machines are plugin and hit the power button), I'd like VNC access, and anywhere in the continental US is fine.

Do any of you guys know of any hosting services that fit these kind of requirements?

I'm not sure if there is anything like that available in the US (especially if you're supplying the hardware with no support).

Short of leaving these machines at your place of business (i.e. you're a sys admin or network admin for the business), I'm not sure if there is anything like this available.

Judging by what you have searched so far, I don't know if you can purchase "more power" lots, to your required 7 amps of electrical power and 4U rack space.

yeah it isn't looking good based on my research. Best plan might be just to do it myself. Get a monster AC unit and just deal, sadly electricity rates are not extremely favorable where I am located...

I think when Monday rolls around I'll need to start making some phone calls to real humans at hosting companies. My application doesn't fit their normal services, tiny bandwidth, little support, but lots of power and heat so humans can help me out better I hope.

I wish ya luck. Personally I don't know if they'll accept such a proposition, especially if it is something out of their normal business model/product range. Heck just the power and cooling factor alone might get your request rejected, as they are not making any profit.

Just my .02

Yeah no go so far. I got 2 quotes back from data centers, one wanted 500 a month and the other wanted 350. Definitely not worth it.

I'm getting a quote from a local datacenter, maybe they'll show some love since I'm a student and the project is working towards my graduation.

If not I'll locally host everything and grab a swamp cooler. Take advantage of my dry climate.

There are plenty of Colo services but most are $250+ a month for 4U plus that power draw. Rackspace is very expensive but there are a few Colos in San Diego you could try, or find someone to sublet 4Us to you from their half-rack.
