the current state song is some stupid one called "where the Columbine grows" really dumb and old old song. I love john denver and his song "Rocky Mountain High" and i think it should be changed to something more modern and one more familiar.

however there is one law maker who says the song has nothing to do with smoking pot. LOL!!! she says the "Everybodys high...." is refering to being high in the mountains...

It's the Colorado Rocky Mountain High,
I've seen it raining fire in the sky
I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an Eagle fly
Rocky mountain high
It's the Colorado Rocky Mountain High,
I've seen it raining fire in the sky.
Friend around the camp fire and everybody's high....
Rocky Mountain High, Rocky Mountain High,
Rocky Mountain High,
Rocky Mountain High.

i actually love this song ... and i do think it could be interpreted two ways (pot or "high on life"), but it does sound an awful lot like pot!

Call me naive but I dont think the song is about getting high. John Denver was all about nature and enjoying life.

I love John Denver and i think it is a great song! I don't live in Colorado, but i think it would be a great "state song" :D
Friends around the campfire and everybody's high
Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high.
Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high.
That could simply mean everyone was happy and high because of the beautiful place they were in!

Colorado is the first thing that comes to my mind whenever I hear that song so it makes sense to me.
