Colling: Best cooling device for Geforce 6800?

I'll assume you mean best air cooling, in which case I'd give the Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 a nod.

ditto the silencer. Man the thing is quiet! You might not realize how loud your current cooling is until you slap this one on. It also allowed be to squeeze almost 100mhz more out of my 6800NU's RAM.

Man, and I was dreaming about that Shuttle!

You could try to get your hands on one of BFG's heatpipe ones... like from someone who replaced their's with an NV Silencer. But speaking from experience, it's not much better than nVidia's reference design. Mine gets up over 70 C while gaming with the core at 390 and RAM at 1050.

The BFG dual-fan heatpipe heatsink is what I happen to have right now. I probably should have mentioned that in my OP. One of the fans is starting to fail and is making tons of noise.

Well, thats a dissapointment. One of the pluses of the BFG was its better than reference design hs.

Uh..The stock cooler that comes on the card...At least then you still have your warranty🙂...

As long as you remove the stock cooler carefully you can always put it back on. Ideally water would be best (my GT runs 43c under load and rock stable), but I understand that lots of people aren't ready for that sort of commitment.

BTW, from what I understand Rollo got a 2-week vacation.
