If I pulled 3 A's and 2 B's (mostly accelerated/AP) fresh-junior years, and pull all Bs senior year, is a college (such as, Univ. of IL @ urbana-champaign or purdue) going to do anything?

I'm not slacking off, it's just I have the worst luck this year remembering assignments and, well...bad things happen.

Enjoy working at a gas station for the rest of your life! Now, excuse me while I go back to nailing my many super model wives while taking some time off from my job as a data-farming astronaut baseball player.

shouldnt matter unless you fail. I would try to break the habit of having "worst luck remembering assignments" as in college it only gets more difficult to remember assignments as nobody reminds you and beer helps you forget.

No...it's the decline in academic performance (just grades...people don't get any dumber) their senior year.

So as long as I don't "fail" or pull a D, I'm good?

Save for Ivy League and other more selective universities, it doesn't seem like it's really difficult to get into college. As long as your GPA is >2.0 you should probably be able to get in. And of course high SAT and/or SAT scores can help out if your grades aren't the best. Also some departments have more strict admission guidelines, for example a 2.0 might be all you need to get into the college of business but college of engineering may require at least a 2.5.

So yeah, if you're pulling an A/B average I'm sure you'll be fine.

EDIT: tfinch2, I think he means senioritis.

I have a good(3.4+ something unwegithed, 4.45 weighted from junior year. I got a 31 on the ACTs. Applied to Purdue eng, got in, UIUC eng, pending. I'm know I'll get in. It's the "can I take it easy now and pull straight Bs or lower" I want to be able to do.

seniorities should be truly enjoyed by slacking off in taking easy classes, not by slacking off and doing bad in hard classes :)

my senior year hs schedule was something like painting, bioethics, drawning/composition, shakespeare, and sculpting (re: bong making).

Isn't keeping up the hard curriculum more important than the grades?

And personally, I find that regular/easy classes to be the worst. They piss me off, and force me to criticize at the point of the activities.

Don't slack off first semester senior year, pass the second semester and you are golden.

I wouldn't have posted that if I realized you were yet another engineering major :p

go do whatever's going to help you suppress your species being the most. lol.

Also RES you were the one asking a few Calc questions on here lately right? Sounds like you're talking some pretty tough courses (the stuff you guys are going over is college level Calc 2 material), so I wouldn't worry if you end up with a few Bs. You could be taking woodshop and other crap like that your senior year and get a 4.0GPA. If a college questions you about your senior grades (which I doubt they would), just point out the difficulty of your courses.

EDIT: What classes are you taking, Calc and Physics? I know it's tough to resist the temptation but don't slack off too much. It'll just make the classes easier in college because you'll already know what you're doing. Or are you going to take AP tests for the classes?

But about your senior grades I'm sure the university won't care. But that being said I still wouldn't slack too much, definitely don't fail and try to get at least Cs in the classes.

Thought I was the only data-farming astronaut baseball player married to multiple super models...

^Phew...

Calc is the only class, besides weight training, that keeps me sane. I wish I could do more Physics...

And loki8481, what? I don't understand what you typed (sadly)?

Is CompE what you plan to declare? I'm an EE but am taking an intro to CompE class this semester and it's pretty cool stuff. Designing adders, counters, etc. and programming them onto FPGAs, it's pretty neat to go from theory to practical application (something that in most of my classes so far it doesn't seem like you really get to do a lot of).

But yeah definitely don't go into it for a love of computers, you'll probably be sick of them by the time you get out. :p

Yeah. I'm prolly going to drop a full GPA point this year. *Sigh*...

Frostedflakes, hmmm....I'm good at math, verrry good at physics, and like computers (and gaming stuff). Doesn't eng. fit most of that? Besides, I hate the rest of the known occupations, except being an artist, or .... no wait, that's it.

Yeah I wouldn't worry man I'm sure you'll do fine in it. I also enjoy PCs a lot as a hobby and still enjoy electrical and computer engineering. I was just saying don't go into CE just because you enjoy computing, because CE is a lot different. But sounds like you're already doing some calc and stuff so you know what you're getting into. Also something to consider is how well you like programming, I know a lot of CEs have switched to other engineering majors after figuring out they hate programming.
