an avg student gets a 4.5 GPA? even with a 5 scale, that is a pretty high average.

but you wouldn't get into MIt if you tried...


heh...I sent my application to MIT with a 1150 sat score and I never even got a rejection letter. Technically, I never got rejected😉
 
just go to your state U. most research universities have more than decent comp. sci departments, and it isn't even a field which a superstar professor would be that great of an asset. Besides, you might be able to get a little bit of money. I'd recommend retaking the SAT though; it is very learnable.
