College transcript question...

Is it normal for colleges to not send transcripts from over-the-phone conversations? I know that Ole Miss is one of the bigger jokes in the University world, but they want me to print out a form, mail it to them, wait a week, then have them mail it back. I figured they could just send it off today after I gave them my info over the phone. Heck, they transferred me to an automated "How to get transcripts" line.

Is that normal?

yes because they need your signature to release them

ask them if you can fax it

yeah, nothing over the phone. i work on campus. They make sure we dont tell them anything over the phone.

Same here, nothing over the phone. We can order online with the same software used for class registration, but that's the equivalent of an electronic signature, methinks.

Sorry its not normal. What probably happened was your grades were so embarrassing to the school that they refused to even mention them. What they'll probably do is have a computer print it out, burn the computer, have someone put the transcript in an envelope, kill that person, and then mail it in a biohazard bag.

Yes. Official transcripts are a pain in the ass to get. University of Maryland charges for them (after you request x number, I believe).

You aren't kidding. I only went to like 3 of my classes the first semester, and didn't even show up the second semester. :beer:

I wish they at least posted their 800 number on the front of the site, my poor phone card got a work out. I just hope they have my transcripts to me by 7/21...

totally normal. all the requests i've done at UCLA i've done some in person but i still had to hand them a form. they require your signature.
