The university I attend is currently having a debate on adding a new fee to support the resnet network in the dorm buildings/apartments. The fee is proposed to be $50/semester. The school will raise $600,000-800,000/year if this fee gets voted in. What I would like to know is what your University has for a fee. Keep in mind this fee is completely seperate from a lab fee (ours is $30/year).

Here's the technical thread about the network

This is the fee for each semester.

we have a $70 technology fee. which everyone pays regardless of whether they live on campus or not.
dorm internet might be in housing fee, its not itemized so i have no idea. this is at GaTech.

Nothing...I go to the same school as AMD. Personally, I agree with it. The problem right now isnt bandwidth, as our school (WIU) doesnt even use all the bandwidth it buys. The problem is the switches. They are 10-15 years old, the servers are only serviced by 1 employee that only works during the weekdays from 9-5. That is simply too much. The fees would allow the school to purchase new equipment, hire more people, and buy mroe bandwidth should the need arise.

Ah Cornell... let me count the ways I love thee. We pay $25 a month for 2 GB or traffic. After that, its $2 for each additional GB, which used to be $3/GB until this semester. Last year, we had unlimited access for $45 a month.
