it does look messier to myself... some kinda psychological effect. i guess because black doesn't look "pretty", combned wtih my messy wirting it's ugly.
I never use it so I prefer it when other people put "results" as an option as well. It's not like it hurts.

Those were my reasons exactly. I was pretty anal about only using a blue fine point Parker pen too so I could write smaller (which makes my handwriting neater, more legible, and use less paper).
Added a 4th poll. This one's actually more important than the others because binders are the one thing I didn't buy (they're expensive!).

Notebook, but non-spiral...3-ring binder, one thin one per class, and I might take notes on 3-hole-punched paper that's kept in the binder, thus allowing easy removal and addition. Pencil for notes, drafting pencil for clear and neat writing.

Eh, damn. Voted loose paper instead of notebook. I was confused and thought you meant laptop, whatever.
But I prefer a spiral notebook, like the mead 5 section ones. That way I can put everything for all my classes into one book and not worry about it. Oh, and I prefer pen in every class but math.
Edit: black pen. I'm not a big fan of blue pens, even though I use them a lot at work.

I use a notebook with pencil. I only use a 3-ring binder if there are PowerPoint slides for the class.
