When choosing courses indicate the special grading option available.
Normal
Pass/Fail
Audit

What do they mean? and how does it help.

normal - you are taking the class for a grade
pass/fail - this one's pretty self explanatory, you dont get a grade for it so it doesnt affect your gpa but it does go on your record
audit - you sit in the class for kicks and dont get a grade or do work 😛

Normal -> you get a normal letter grade
Pass/Fail -> You either pass or fail the course (no letter grade, not usually recomended in your major)
Audit -> you don't get any official grade, you just take the course (like if you felt you needed to refresh your knowledge before taking a higher level class or just wanted to do it for fun)

Pretty much sums it up.

Interesting. I guess i'm always have done Normal.

You can use pass/fail to your advantage if you are taking a full load and want to take a class that you know will pass, but don't want to bust your chops in order to get a good grade.
