If I were to attend one of your frat parties there'd have to be a referee because it would be Gateway vs. Dell :D

I never said there's anything wrong with Dell (besides Mr. Dude You Got A Dell Steve), it's Gateway who sucks and will be out of business ... one day

wow.

I know a girl that regularly takes 20-24 hours a semester (regularly meaning 3 so far) and works 40+ hours a week as a nurse. She's the man.

Hmmm... 18 was pretty common for our school. I think what you can handle depends greatly on your major... I was able to do 21 credits and do 2 internships in the same semester... COM was pretty easy. Switched majors twice before that and I still finished in 4.5 years. Turns out I coulda graduated with ANY BA/BS degree and it wouldn't have mattered... so it worked out in my case. If you're an engineer... no way should you be taking close to 20.

I averaged 17-18 credits as an undergraduate. The most I took was 21 credits. That was 7 upperlevel mathematics and physics courses. No PE credits that time.

In 5 and a half years of undergrad work, I racked up 214.5 credits. Most I ever had was 23.5 credits. Most semesters were around 21 or 22. First semester I only had 15 credits and was bored out of my mind. Last semester was only 14 because I was student teaching and couldn't take any classes (not only was it not allowed, but it was also 2 hours away from campus). I had no free time. Did mostly 8 am to 9 or 10 pm with classes, etc. Somehow managed to make it to the weekend and party. Also caught up on a lot of sleep. I've even got copies of my transcript around here somewhere, I had to get them out for something recently, but I forget what. (Otherwise I wouldn't remember Jack Schitt about what I took!)

12 credits is boring, even with a job. I averaged 15 my first time around. Now I take as many as they will let me :)

Heh, I got easy.... This semester will be the most for me 8 hrs. Plus working fulltime in a 3 or 4 day week job at 12. 5 hours a day.

I believe the most i've taken was 18 but it was two 5 unit classes with labs and two 4 unit classes. It was hell, don't do it, take it from someone who's been there and done that. Unless one or two of your classes are easy classes :)

The max number of credits one can take here at RPI is 21, while the average load is 16-17 credits for the most part.

Of course, with most of our classes being 4 credits, it usually works out where one takes 4 x 4 credit classes, and then maybe a one-credit course here and there. It's part of the 4x4 scheduling that RPI switched to a couple years ago (possibly last year, my freshman year).

Most I've taken at one time is 17... both semesters last year.

GPA = sh!t IMHO.
Not if you're in engineering and your school does co-op. Most companies won't even look at you if you're below a 3.0.

I took 17 one semester, plus 3 hours of an online course (which was a total joke). Won't ever be doing that again. It's too much work, I was way burnt out by the end of the semester and my grades reflected it. Of course, none of the 17 hours were easy classes, I'd say the easiest one I had was physics.
