I know there have to be a few of you around here that are either going, have gone, or are in college and I Was wondering what would you suggest for periphs, scanner, printer... whatever, or would you recomend mooching off the school, and using their printers, although I don't know if they have scanners. And if you recomend bringing something, what- ex: Cannon whatever or you get it- heh.

Emrys gots to run to school in a week- dah

Emrys, while the "free" printers that school offers is nice on the wallet, printing from your dorm room is just easier IMHO. As for other items, one of the newer sleek Canon scanners would be easy to take along, won't cost that much, and could become usefull in a pinch if you need a quick scan, or use it in addition w/ your printer for quick photocopies. Hope this helps :)

I was kinda looking along the same lines, actually very similar. I had been looking at the very slim cannon scanners- the more expensive of the 2(still cheep)- about 100. As for printers, any specific suggestions?- not looking to spendy here.

I'd recommend an Epson Stylus 777. My Stylus 740 had been going strong for three years. A good blend of price and performance, text is crisp and it does a very good job of printing graphics (which it sounds as though you'll be doing at least a little of since you're taking a scanner). You ought to be able to pick up a 777 for around $80.00, I got my 740 for $75.00.

EDIT: If you've got a ZIP drive laying around take it too. I know that everyone will say just to burn CD's, but the ZIP has come in handy more than a few times for me.
