30 points of a 100 point calc. test. Too bad that was the test that I did one problem on, left, dropped the class, and decided I should take the previous course before attempting that again.
Funny enough, the one problem I did, I did correctly. I got a 38.
I remember once a teacher did the square root curve.
Square root of your score times 10. so if you got a 25 you'd get a sq(25)*10 = 50 or a gain of 25 points.
Interestingly you get the most curve points at 25 but lower than that the amount of points you get decreases. Examples: Sq(16)*10 =40 or a gain of 24 points. Sq(1)*10 =10 or a gain of only 9 points.
Had something like that on a anthro test, I think I ended up getting 62ish/150 and that was a B. Since then I have taken 4 classes by the same teacher to fill my liberal studies requirements
My Calc III class was pretty brutal. On the two major exams (20% of your grade) the average was around 40%. Some students got less than 20% on both exams. The curve was pretty extreme.....
lets just say on the final for one of my computer science classes, on the final, a C was a 29 .
and thats out of 100. i got a 39 though so i got like a B. this class was the 'weave out' class to make the peeps that continue to the 300 level courses of computer science a little lower. class was ridiculous though.
the last two math tests I have had this quarter the class average has been a little under 60% (failing), and the prof will not curve! I had one of the highest scores with a 74 on the first one.
