Just...don't ask.

You could always write a letter to the Dean complaining about this, and how you're going to tell others to NOT go to your school because of the crappy internet quality, and how had you know you wouldn't have come to this school...

*bonus points for those who remember that story*

FTP should work.
That's what I did back in the day. Of course this was back in the late 90s, when schools didn't regulate anything, and this new thing called "napster" was coming around, but it only had crappy 128kbit rips of stuff back then.

FTP might work, but it may be limited. We have packetshaper here... P2P went bye bye fast... sans the local dc hub. this is your best bet.

also, be glad it's blocked... it was getting so bad here... connection was so slow w/ all of it.. got worse when packetshaper was initially in testing.. it couldn't handle the load and would choke completely. But it's been good since.

you should be studying instead of trying to download stuff.

I think I'm going to be doing other things then studying in a 4-6 year time period. I'll get back to you on that in a few years.

My school is the same way. They must use a packet shaper or something. All I know is after summer session I got the hell out of the dorms and moved into an apartment. Now I can download whatever I want.
