Oklahoma got eaten alive by WVU in the bowl game. Missou will learn from their mistakes against OK last year and take em down this time. I think it's likely that Missou or maybe Kansas will be one of the two teams in the NC game. And I'd think that a 1-loss UGA would be given the other spot over a 1-loss OSU with a much weaker schedule.

It would be interesting to see a USC/OSU rematch in the Rose bowl as a BCS bowl game

I predict Auburn beats WVU in Morgantown and in frustration there will be much couch burning by the hoopies & hillbillies there. It is those WVU idiots that set furniture on fire, right?

When I think burning couches in the street I think of MSU after thier basketball win, I thikn they also set a dorm on fire, not sure. Don't know about WVU, but the hillbilly call is pretty weak, especially while rooting for a team from Alabama. UVA tried that a few years ago and had to do a public apology, lol. I also saw a few fires in Toledo after they rocked Marshall 42-0 for the MAC title a few years back.

I grew up in East Liverpool, OH, I feel secure in calling them hoopies & hillbillies (There's a reason I left that area). Alabama may have its share of white trash but I can't remember seeing much of that population while going to Auburn or living/working in Birmingham.

I think that we could see a Pac-10 and Big 10 championship game. The Big 12 and the SEC are positioned to beat their own teams up. If Ohio State and USC end up undefeated with the loser of their game with only one loss we'll see a rematch of them for the title.

I doubt it, without a playoff, the whole country will scream if two teams that played eachother get to play for the NC. (I know, I know, it's happened before.) My bet is still winner of USC/OSU vs winner of the SEC unless the Big 12 winner has a remarkedly better record.

Circle Nov 22 on your calendar. Thats the date of Texas Tech and OU. Both teams should be undefeated going into that game.

OU, Tech, or Mizzou will be the Big XII champions this year. One will be undefeated I would bet on it.

ooh I almost forgot about Tech, they are one of my sleepers, if you can still call them a sleeper with a top 10 ranking. They will be gunning for the Big 12 title for sure. That's the same day Team Rich-Rod makes it's debut against the Buckeyes, so I will be foaming at the mouth for sure.

Yeah got to give Tech credit, They actually took the we will throw the ball 80 times a game offense and actually built a program out of it.

LOL, the Miami Dolphins could run that schedule undefeated. Never try to make such a statement bridging the gap between college and the pros, you'll just make yourself look ridiculously silly.

lol, you should learn to identify hyperbole. Otherwise you'll just make yourself look ridiculously silly.

um, his statement wasn't an obvious exaggeration...

Anyways, maybe I was a little too enthusiastic with my reply, but it is something of a peeve of mine to have overly zealous NCAA fans who are somewhat ignorant of the pros and try and compare/contrast the two.

Of course we all know the college season is a wild and crazy ride, and by the end everything that everyone thought at the beginning of the season was all wrong ;)

Ya but like I was trying to say earlier, because of thier tough schedule, even if they drop 2, as long as they win the SEC title game, they should have a secured spot in the BCS Championship

Last year was the first time in the BCS era that a 2 loss got into the BCS Championship game, and last year was certainly an anomaly.

A two loss SEC team would likely be the top 2 loss team in the country, but it would take another exceptional season for them to have any chance at the BCS Championship game. Before last year, the highest rated 2 loss teams, per year was:

Year Team Place (BCS teams with a better record ranked below them)
2007 LSU 2 (1)
2006 LSU 4 (2)
2005 Ohio State 4 (2)
2004 George 7 (0)
2003 Michigan 4 (0)
2002 USC 4 (1)
2001 Colorado 3 (3)
2000 Florida 7 (0)
1999 Alabama 4 (1)
1998 Texas A&M 6 (2)

It's student tradition, not exactly a secret that couches get burned after every game win or lose. Anything that adds to the excitement like a huge loss or huge win will result in excessive burning.

Sorry I jumped on this late but UGA isn't the best team in the SECe much less the country. All this preseason hype combined with half the team having court dates during the fall will be their downfall. They will lose 3-4 games and be playing in the chicken bowl. Their win over Hawaii is giving them waaaaay to credit. Also the big, scary, black jerseys won't work again this year.

Unfortunately I've seen this story play out before

Not only has Tech made it successful as they have been the only team with a winning record since the inception of the Big 12, but other schools are very much following in Techs foot steps. Tech has never had a problem offensively. The problem has always been defensively. That problem should be solved this year. Techs biggest challenge is the OU game. Tech has OSU and UT at home. And they always stomp A&M, this year will be no different with all the changes at A&M.

1. OU or TTU
2. OU or TTU
3. Texas
4. OSU
5. A&M
6. Baylor

It'll be OU or TTU vs Mizzou in the Big 12 title game. If Tech is ever going to do something, this is their year. If Crabtree has another season like last year, he goes top 3 in the NFL Draft. Harrell will probably go in the third or fourth round though. Harrell has an arm, and can be extremely accurate(hes gotten it to Crabtree in triple coverage). Harrells only problem is his mental game. You can just see Techs game vs Mizzou and Colorado the past two years. If Harrell has gotten past his mental game problems in the off season, Tech could be a contender for the National title. Tech only lost 2 starters IIRC. A slot reciever and their place kicker. Tech had extreme depth at WR, and 5'6" Eric Morris will probably be getting a lot more snaps in the slot position. Morris is like one of those clowns that you punch and they pop back up. He's been leveled by guys three times his size and he has always popped right back up.

Did they stop turning their best defensive players into offensive players?

Actually, Uga (the most recent one) died like a month ago. So I don't think you rename a dead animal .... but anyhow.

Also you should note that most of the suspensions are for 1 or 2 games, and the first two games are against Georgia Southern and Central Michigan.

Hopefully for UGA they won't miss the other couple of suspensions after that since their games 3-6 are South Carolina, Arizona State, Alabama, Tennesee. Then a brief break from difficulty to play Vanderbilt before LSU and Florida.... Wow, at least no one can claim UGA doesn't schedule tough opponents. I didn't realize just how crazy their schedule is.

Bump for adding the ESPN poll.

Oh and I was gonna add some suspension links to all the teams who will be missing players at the start of the season but damn there was too many, especially from Georgia. I dont think Georgia will last at #1 long, I'm leaning torwards Florida as being the SEC's best team this year.
