Seeing this article made me think, how long (if ever) will it take before the NCAA admits that college football is a business, any the workers arent getting paid anything near market value?

I think the the conferences that get shut out from the BCS ought to do just that, make it a business, tell the NCAA what to go dowith itself and be minor league for the NFL. That would either change things in a hurry or have a dramatic shift were the better players go to school.
