I know it was yesterday, but how did your school do? K-State picked up a QB who has been said to be the in the same mold as Donovan McNabb, so I'm excited.

See you in the Big 12 Championship game....you guys sure have it easy up North with CU imploding thanks to bootygate and with Nebraska hiring that boob Callahan to be their new coach.

hehe...not like the South hasn't been soft before.

at least we can join forces as we laugh at NU. And CU. And MU.

I'd call the South, the soft one this time around. OU will be good again, as will Texas. Texas A&M will be weak, and Texas Tech is just mediocre..they just use a very good offensive plan. Plug anyone in at QB and they can be successful. Baylor sucks. OSU will be in transition.

The north, however...K-State will be good again, Mizzou will be very good, Kansas should be better, but who knows about NU and CU. ISU will suck. I think CU will be better next year, they showed flashes of talent. I don't think the whole recruiting fiasco will affect them too much.

You can stick a fork in CU....their coaching staff is in disarray...just fired their DC for some reason and of course there is still bootygate. Kansas....I dunno. Still iffy on them. I do fully expect NU and ISU to suck though. Mizzou will be good, but still not good enough to take the North. KSU should have that wrapped up easily. In the South it will be OU and Texas, then most likely OSU. I'm still trying to get a read on them. I think their D will be improved but the O will suffer without R Woods. A&M will continue to suck....I actually think Baylor may sneak past them next season.

Lol, you have Texas that's usually a gimme win by at least 7 touchdowns not to mention they help pad your schedule.

My team = # 20

Link to top 25

Head of the class: Demario Pressley, DT (1); Andre Brown, RB (9)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Newberg's analysis:
The Wolfpack don't have the big numbers like the schools rated ahead of them, but they have a ton of quality. Demario Pressley, the nation's top defensive tackle, gave N.C. State a huge boost by committing on Signing Day. Andre Brown is a big running back and one of the nation's best, and he's headed to Raleigh. Running back Darrell Blackmon, one of the top backs in the country last season, will re-sign with N.C. State. John Dunlap is an intriguing prospect from south Florida because he can play wide receiver and linebacker. His teammate, Octavious Darby, is one of the top tight ends in the nation, and he's headed to N.C. State as well. The 'Pack did very well in the trenches with offensive lineman Merci Falaise, defensive tackle Gerard Miller and defensive end Brandon Setzer. D-lineman Raymond Brooks and cornerback Miguel Scott will also return to Raleigh. They had a great Signing Day getting Pressley and defensive end Willie Young.

According to all the "experts", Michigan had a top 5 class. Three highly-touted WRs and some great O-Lineman.

They did great on the OL and snagged two of the top recruits from Iowa right out from the Hawkeye's backyard.

We missed out on a couple of good recruits from CA yesterday, but we certianly didn't have as disappointing a day as OSU did. They were in the running for four great recruits and all of them went elsewhere.

I think KSU and Mizzou will have a battle for the north. K-States QB situation is still up in the air. We have Allen Webb who transfered here last year from Indiana, but he is in legal trouble right now. We have Dylan Meier (Soph or Junior I think) who has looked terrible in his few times under center. We did get a 4 Star recruit from Kansas State (the guy I mentioned in OP), but I imagine we would want to Redshirt him. Nebraska, I don't know. They have lots of talent, they could surprise us. K-State has also lost some good LBs and corners...we had to hit the Jucos pretty hard to replace them.

Here is ESPN's take on Nick Patton, QB from Winfield, KS.

O C S N C O M M E N T
Finalists are KanSt, Mo, Kan. Also considered Iowa, MichSt. Passed for 1262 yds and 10 tds as sr, rushed for 339-8.

E S P N ' S T A K E
Nick is the spitting image of Donovan McNabb. He not only looks like the All-Pro, but his style of play is very similar.

On Film -- No. 15 is adept and very efficient at throwing from the pocket and while on the run. He can throw the short to medium range passes with pinpoint accuracy, but he also has the arm to go deep. He rivals Anthony Morelli for the strongest arm I've seen during my recruiting trip.

He's also an outstanding scrambler who gives pass rushers fits with his great feet, quick moves and sixth sense. He ranks with Rocky Hinds when it comes to overall athletic ability among quarterbacks, so you can see I'm very high on Mr. Patton.

On film, I saw him throw off his back foot for a 65-yard completion. His game against Derby was a work of art. He's a cross between Mike Bishop and Seneca Wallace. Just a great talent with an extremely bright future.

Stats -- He passed for 1,297 yards and 15 TDs. He rushed for 697 yards and nine TDs. He's also the top DB prospect in the state of Kansas, totaling 30 tackles and picking off eight passes from his FS position.

If something happens to Nick's arm, he could easily step right into any college program and start at SS. Benches 255 and has a 36" VJ.

Other Sports -- Averages 16 points and eight rebounds a game as a small forward in basketball. He's been timed in a 10.8 100 meters in track.

;) I wouldn't even consider him a K-State QB , as he has not made the roster yet, not even as a redshirt. He transfered from IU (Big 10 cupcake) to here, so he gave up a year of eligibility.

NU has talent for a running team...Callahan wants to turn them into a West Coast style passing team. Only problem is they don't have a QB who can throw or WR's who can catch. It will be a couple of years before NU pulls itself from mediocrity.....if they can at all with Callahan.....the Callahan hire for NU reminds me of the Schnellenberger hire for OU....it's a real WTFer.......

What i'm wondering about is the play of Jason White. He never did seem to be the same after we rang him up ;)

Also, you will see us before the Big 12 championship game. O-Who has to make a trip to Manhattan this year :D

Something was up with one of White's knees, one of his hands, and an ankle. He had surgery to fix the ankle and the hand. Not sure about the knee....heard he had it scoped a few weeks back to remove some "floating objects" whatever the hell that means. What I've never figured out was why Stoops didn't use Thompson when it was obvious White was hurting agains KSU and LSU. He eventually used Thompson against KSU when it was already too late, but he never sniffed the field against LSU. Oh well....that's why he gets paid the big bucks to coach.....

Thats what shocked me, was the absolute terrible play by White in that game. All year he looked perfect, and then when we got a few hits on him..he was ice cold. He will have to have a break-out season next year to be considered for the NFL.

For some reason the OU OL started playing like hell the last few games of the season and White got beat up a lot. After that he looked mediocre and never seemed to get into a groove. It was only a few weeks ago that the stuff about his hand and ankle injuries came out....then a couple of weeks ago the knee story popped up. The dude is just patched together at this point....tough kid but I think he's just one sack away from being put out to pasture.
