College Degree's: Will I get an Associates Degree after 2 years?

I would go to my advisor about this but she is a total jerk.

I am in College, an Undergrad (2nd semester, Freshmen). Working to get my Bachler's Degree in Computer Science. Now I've got some things in my life going on, and may see myself leaving college in about a year and a half from now.

I was wondering, in pursueing a Bachler's degree, do I attain an Associates Degree in two years? Or do I have to complete all 4-5 years to get my bachlers as the only certificate confirming my education?

An associates means nothing anyway, it basically means you took all your general education stuff and maybe 2 or 3 classes in your major.

If you entered into a BS program that is all you will be able to get. Completing only half of the courses does not count towards anything other then a Bachelors.

Depends on the school and the classes you take. Many have done away with the 2 year degrees.

Not true. If his school and his program offer associates, then he is eligible. My university offered associates and bachelors in technology programs. My roommate ended up with both and associates and bachelors in Computer Integrated Manufacturing.

I think most of yall are right. I wont be able to.

However, perhaps I can transfer to a tech school after this semester and have some of the classes I've already taken.. acccredited towards an associates?

and yes you can get it in 2 years. Also 90% should transfer to anywhere.

I doubt tech school will transfer those classes. SImply b/c it's not the same class, but if they are similair in nature, it may pass.

You could take your 2 years of courses and go to a Tech College and see how much will transfer. Might be close to getting an Associates but they are from a different type of college.

There's also an Associates of General Studies and Associates of Science

BS=Bachelors of Science
BA=Arts

If you don't think you'll want to spend 4 years getting a degree, your best bet would probably be to switch to a community college that offers associate degrees. But you should probably do it right away. You don't want to spend 2 years at your school, then find out that half the classes won't transfer to a 2 year program.

If you are working to a 4yr degree you do not WANT a AA, all credits used to claim the AA cannot be used to get a BS. It will be recognized that you have taken the courses, so if you take PE as a university requirement and then claim a AA, you will not have to retake the PE requirement, but you will not be able to apply the course hours to your BS.
