college courses online?

rudeguy

Lifer
I want to work towards getting my BA and I have no time to actually go to a classroom. I am looking at taking the courses online. Anyone have any experience with this?

I've tried and I hated it. I think it was more in the way the course was set up though. I don't think I would try it again. For reference purposes it was a psych class.

I love on-line classes. i have taken about 5 diffrent classes.

this semester i am takeing 2.

It would largely depend on the course, imo. If you're just trying to get your basics I would definitely give it a shot. IMO, it's great for those who aren't audible learners. I learn a lot quicker if simply given the books, and I need not have someone pontificate for a few hours on the subject. Others lack the discipline and need the prof to push them through each class.

In short: It depends on your learning style, the classes (a lot of science classes have labs), and your discipline.

I am going to be taking my first online class this semester... engineering economy. just have to take the 2 tests and a final. hopefully it won't be too bad.

I haven't taken any on-line courses rudeguy, but what specific classes do you need?

I am currently enrolled with Troy State University (I am enrolled through the Florida and Western Region here). I have been taking all my classes online (3 semester) for a year now. One more semester to go. Being active duty, it was the only way I could get this done. They have been great. The instructors are very fair and I really like being in control when and where I "go to class".

Im a student and I've taken a few online courses. I actually enjoyed them because I could do the work when I wanted to, eating breakfast/lunch/ in my boxers all while doing something more interesting at the same time. You need a lot of discipline to pass the classes though, I've known plenty of people who don't get the work done because they have alot more slack.

I loved the online classes I took through Tulane...I belive I took 4 or 5. They were mostly Oracle/web dev/programming classes, which I think work really well in electronic classrooms. I loved having a transcript of every classes' entire lecture and Q&A available to study at any time.

I need to take everything.

Here is my situation. I want to...no check that...I am going to go into pharm sales, and you need a BA to even get your foot in the door. I figure if I take my classes online, I can take them at night when the boy is sleeping I have free time (like right now.) I emailed a local college that offers their classes online, hopefully I will hear back from them.

Are you doing graduate online work? I am interested in thier Masters in International Relations with a concentration on National Security Policy.

Unfortunatly not. I am going to finish up my BS after the next semester then take the summer off. I will start my Masters in the Fall, either with Troy or someone else. But it will be online, I really like the freedom it provides.
