The Gaylord Hotel Music City Bowl makes sense because Gaylord Hotels is one of the biggest companies in Nashville and Tenn.

What doesn't make sense is OU's, Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

The Papajohns.com Bowl makes no sense. It would only make sense if it was held at Papa Johns Stadium, at the University of Louisville.

Most of the bowls are sponsored by local companies(Bell Helicopter, Valero, etc etc) IMHO those make sense.

remember the Poulan Weedeater Bowl, that was from the 80's, c',on Meineke Car Care isn't half as bad as that.

Actually it was from the 90's, 1990-1996, it was the Poulan Weedeater Independence Bowl. AKA the Weedwacker Bowl. Now it is the PetroSun Independence Bowl.

Yeah every bowl is named and just about every marquis matchup (Texas-OU, etc.).

Some exceptions are the Rose Bowl (it's merely "presented" by Citi) and the OSU-UM game. They almost let a sponsor in but decided against it. Say what you want about the Big Ten but there you go.

Every bowl now has a fucking sponsor in its name.

yeah, even the "peach bowl" had its name erased by chick-fil-a

the peach bowl is the chick-fil-a bowl?

yeah... before it was "the chick-fil-a peach bowl"... they got rid of peach...
