College Board Sucks A

I sent score reports to 12 colleges on November 30, 2006. College Board recorded it as December 1 (I guess because I did it after they closed for the day).

On the order form, College Board states that shipping takes three to five weeks (which I think is ridiculously absurd), but since I was sending scores more than a month in advance of my application deadlines, I felt there wasn't a need to add $27 per report to rush deliver them.

It has been almost six weeks. None of my colleges have received score reports. A few even mailed/phoned me today stating that my application would be thrown out if I didn't get those in.

Meanwhile, I call College Board to see what the problem is. Their system says that they only received 5 score report requests. However, when I log into my CB account, it clearly shows all 12 universities in the "SCORES SENT TO" box.

This isn't the first time I've had problems with College Board. But this is by far the biggest problem I've had with them. Problem is, I'm paying for their laziness.

Even if they do somehow pull through and get these colleges their score reports ... SIX WEEKS to mail out a piece of paper? When I'm paying you $10 to do so? I mean, gimme a break!

Cliffs:
1. Send score reports end of November
2. Using College Board's timeframe, score reports should arrive at colleges late December / first few days of January
3. As of this afternoon, none of my colleges have yet to receive reports.
4. Certain colleges have contacted me stating they will rescind my application to certain programs if scores aren't received immediately.
5. College Board disagrees with themselves as to if reports are sent.
6. ...
7. Non-profit organization my @$$

Twelve Universities? Damn, you could have saved some money by... I don't know, cutting that list in half?

Many of these are University of California schools. It's only one application for all schools, but each school requires its own score report.

Guess not. My high school actually only sends one transcript to the UC main processing center. From there, it gets sent to the different locations.

Why? I sent them in on time. It has been six weeks since I sent the request. I don't see how paying $27/report would help College Board get off their lazy non-profit fatasses to mail a stupid piece of paper.

I've already taken CC courses. I've outgrown it. I need a real university.

Plus you don't study your butt off in school/on SATs to go to a CC :p

<-- senior also going through college apps

Email/Telephone your schools and tell them about the mix-up with the college board, especially the part where you have a written record (the collegeboard.com website) that you submitted the score report requests in plenty of time. They should hopefully understand.

I find it mildly amusing that their website is www.collegeboard.COM not www.collegeboard.ORG like the ACT. I hate the SAT; it doesn't measure how smart you are, only how good you are at taking the SAT.

right, nor how much you have achieved. Women historically have done poorer than men on the SAT and consistently do better than men in all levels of education.

My brother is studying for SATs now - I was going through some of his sample test material (produced from real tests they say) and there's actually a mistake in one of the math questions.

Jeez I hate collegeboard. One of my friends was harvard/yale material and applied to several ivys. Collegeboard didn't send out his scores (even after he sent them TWICE). The deadline was past and they all threw out his app, even after dealing with numerous phone calls to the colleges. Finally, he called up RPI and they understood and let him in.
