Iam not exactly sure what to put. There are boxes for how many months ive done this activity. Do i put in jobs? ive had plenty of jobs and most of my time is spent working, Iam involved at a club at my community college. I at least signed up but never went to any of the meetings. Then it asks how i currently spend my time and how i plan to spend it befor entering the college. Should i just sign up for a bunch of clubs and leadership classes tommrow at school so i can put them down on the application? what else should i put here, play guitar, play basketball?

Write something hippie like you found yourself or some shvt. They love that crap. Keep in mind the readers are likely left wing liberal hippies.

Ok, so my disclaimer is that I went to a fairly good liberal-arts school and I'm now working on my PhD. Over the years, I've been on a lot of committees that approve people for various things...

I think that the general opinion of the people who sit on these committees is that college is *the destination* and that other things are merely... well, distractions. I'd fill my application with statements about how I came to realize that more education was the right way to go. Also, I wouldn't mention money too much.... "I realized that my job working at Steve's House of Luggage sucked" is true... but it doesn't convey the same sentiment as "I realized that I would never have the responsibility to make meaningful decisions without a college degree..."

As conservative as I am, JS80 may have it right...

Good luck!

What's your situation? Are you going to community college, and now transferring to a 4 year college? Did you work dead end jobs for a few years and now want to enter as a freshman? Did you goof off at CC and now want a fresh start? Are you entering college right after high school? It's not clear from your post.

If you're entering right after high school, or transferring from the CC, they are asking about your hobbies and such (and how the CC was the first step in your plan for the transfer case)
For any of the other things I mentioned, they want to know that you're committed to college now, and preferably that you weren't just goofing off for the last few years. Thus you should emphasize your jobs and any school that you did do, and how you want a new direction for your life. If you just talk about hobbies, they'll think you were goofing off.

Leave it to some people to turn a thread about a college application into P&N crap...

To the OP, why don't you just....write what you did or are doing? I can't imagine this will be the most important part of your application.
