ugh this is my 3rd semester doing college algebra. first time i had to drop out of school cuz my scholarship was revoked(dont ask) second time my teacher bailed on the class this semester i have a DECENT teacher and i understand it. but i failed both tests. and now he says im missing a shit load of the homework. i showed to him that i actually did the homework and he said "well its too late you shouldve showed me earlier" even though he never told me i was missing them when i asked him before if i had everything turned in. basically there are 20 homework assignments through the semester. we've completed 15 or so. im missing 1, 2, 4, 5,6, 12, 14 =[. should i drop the class and take it again? i really just want to finish it already so i dont have to take it again. but this is such bull shit, has this happened to any one else through college? teachers forgetting htings than saying its your fault?

....if you need help give me a call...seriously.

College Algebra should be something you can do with a Sacajawea Dollar as your teacher. If you need help you have to get it on your own.

Actually that is the defining characteristic of many college courses:D

well if you handed it in..it should be graded..Usually I just dropped my psets in the big box with everyone elses...
How much is hw worth? Usually its like 10-20% anyway. If you know your shit, just ace the exams and you'll be done. Seems easy enough to me.

=] im just tired of registering for it, because its the only math class i really NEED. my transcripts must look really funny

reg: Mat 121
drop: Mat 121(withdrew from school)
reg: Mat 121
drop: Mat 121 (teacher drop)

homework is worth 50% bcuz they are takehome tests...tests are worth 35% and the rest is other shit like..this community service project he has us do...and attendance(which can be excluded from your grade) and i know i should ace the tests but i always choke on tests..no matter the subject.

and i did turn it in, he graded it, gave it back, said i didnt do it, wont take late work.

shoulda cliff noted the OP

Most classes give pretty low weight to HW (5-10%). Do good on your tests and you'll get at least a B.

Bring it up with the head of the dept. or with an academic dean if this is true. If he refuses to take his OWN grades then there's something majorly wrong here.

Yea seriously, I didn't get the part that you actually did all the homework and handed it in. He must have you in some weird spot in his gradebook that he misses you so much.

If you have a legit case, go talk to the dean.

Why do I get the feeling that there is more to this story than you are telling us. In one post you claim to still have these graded assignments and even showed them to your prof, and in this post you are seem to be leaving some doubt about receiving them back.

Absolutely. Go talk to an academic advisor, through your major or however you're supposed to do it at your school.

If you're missing a whole bunch of scores and can't get them back and you failed the tests, then dropping is probably your best option. Calculate your base-case grade (scoring a 100% on the final); if it's a C or lower, just drop and try again next semester. Study the material on your own time during the time you would normally be in class. When you take it next semester, ace it and get an A.
