college admission dilemma

so.... i just got rejected from UCLA & UCSD 🙁 .. yep.. but i got accepted to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, UC Riverside, and UC Santa Barbara all in the majors of Computer Engineering. I'm still waiting to hear from USC, UCI, and UC Berkeley. Can anyone cheer me up 🙁

screw those schools for now...go to a JC and take all your breadth/general ed. classes. Then pull a jr. transfer

You'll have a much better time for 2 years and save yourself/your parents loads of money 🙂 Trust me, only ugly girls go to those smart colleges 😉

<==-- Knows from experience 🙁

Holy Crap. Well, Cal Poly SLO is a very good school and hard to get into with a Comp. Engineering Degree. I'd take SLO.

USC will accept anybody who has enough money to pay. Berkeley is quite competitive though, good luck on that. Chances are you will get into UCI. There's no reason to be upset. By the way I go to UCD.

UCI has an awesome CS program from what I hear, which rivals even Berkeley's program. I don't know your grades or Sat scores, but if all goes well you should get into UCI. I have a 3.7 GPA 1410 SAT I 700/700/700 SAT II, and i got into all the UC campus' except for UCLA which denied admission to me and Berkeley which i have not heard from yet.

Its not the school that limits your ability, its yourself that limit your ability to succeed

You know, you optimists and wisdom-sayers crack me up. "You are what you dream" and "You determine your own destiny" and all that stuff. Well, let me tell you, there's alot of dumb luck that happens.

There's a point when no matter how hard you work, no matter how hard you try, nothing goes right. "some guys have all the luck". But that isn't to say that you should stop trying. Hard work does pay off, but hard work and common sense pays off even more.

pokemonlover, you got rejected from some big college that was supposedly all prestigious and shoite. I meet alot of people who graduate from top notch schools who can't find work and are maladjusted. Go out and meet people, do some crazy stuff while you're young but not so crazy that you have to pay for it and learn what it means to be alive. Decide who you are and what you'd like to do. You may graduate college and think "why did I spend this time doing this? I was worried about getting into another school?". All this crap you think has any weight, doesn't matter. The graveyard is full of people smarter, sexier, and with better credentials. You're still alive.

chickendinner, stop eating ben gay.

Cheers ! 🙂
